We start by talking on the phone, so we can get a feel for each other’s style and approach. After you tell me about the ceremony and wedding you’re dreaming about, the next step is a no-cost, no obligation meeting to see if it’s a good fit all around.
When I am chosen as your Celebrant, I will:
Listen to you and create an original ceremony that reflects your wishes and needs.
Use all my Celebrant skills and resources to help you select the readings, music, rituals and other elements that will make your ceremony meaningful, personalized and unique.
Review the ceremony script with you until you are completely satisfied with the product.
Officiate at the event with professionalism and appropriate presence.
Welcome your family and friends with dignity and respect.
Coordinate with family members, other participants and vendors to make sure everything goes smoothly.
What does all this cost?
Each ceremony is unique. I don’t quote costs until I meet with potential clients. I am happy to take the time to speak with you, whether or not we decide to work together.
Who is Heidi? How did you become a Celebrant?
I am a Life-Cycle Celebrant®, certified as a Wedding Officiant and Funeral Officiant by the Celebrant Institute. For almost three decades, I worked as a journalist and author, perfecting my interviewing and writing skills. I learned to listen carefully and tell people’s stories in a compelling and easy-to-follow way. I am a musician, teacher and public speaker.
More about me: I live in Portland, Oregon, with my husband, Joseph Anthony, and our cat, Bruiser. My passions include singing and playing ukulele and guitar, practicing Iyengar yoga, traveling, speaking French and cooking for friends.
